Recognizing and Addressing Teen Burnout

If you think you’re stressed out and exhausted, try being a teenager in today’s world. A recent study by the American Psychological Association found that during the school year teens report stress levels that are even higher than that of adults. 31% reported feeling overwhelmed, and 30% reported feeling depressed or sad as a result of stress. Additionally, more than one-third of teens reported feeling tired (36%) and nearly one-quarter of teens (23%) reported skipping a meal due to stress. 😣

So what’s going on? Well, there is more to it than just looking at what teens are going through with school, sports, extracurriculars, social and relationship pressures, and of course the overuse + misuse of technology… which is a big deal, but not the whole story. 😡

If you’re a parent of a teen who seems to be fully burnt out, constantly exhausted, anxious, depressed, irritable, shut down, and emotionally dysregulated… it’s time to learn that there is MORE going on than them being “just a teenager”! 👏

This wildly impactful video from Dr. Drake will walk you through the “5 Signs of Chronic Stress and Burnout in Teens” and most importantly give you Drug-Free action steps and options you can take to help your teen get better sleep, more energy, and back on track with their mood and nervous system regulation! 🎉
